Commercial passenger vehicle reforms
On 22 February 2016, the Northern Territory Government announced the Commercial Passenger Vehicle (CPV) Industry Reform Package.
This reform will move the CPV industry into a position where it will be able to meet the future growth of the Territory by providing better quality services to consumers, through a co-regulatory relationship between Government and industry.
The outcome of the reform package is to create a modern, safe, innovative CPV industry that meets the needs of a growing, diverse population and offer opportunities for drivers and operators to achieve growth in the industry within a competitive market environment. It will also move the CPV industry towards an innovative and demand response environment focussed on quality service and the needs of customers as its primary drivers.
