Urban Asphalt Program 2020
The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics completed a program of asphalt surfacing repairs to deteriorating road surfaces and pavements in the Darwin and Palmerston urban area.
Works were funded through programs issued by the Australian Government and the Northern Territory Government in an effort to boost infrastructure jobs in the NT as part of the post-COVID 19 economic recovery.
Works have:
- prolonged the lifespan of the pavement
- reduced the need for a total reconstruction of the road
- created a safer driving surface for the travelling public.
