Sober Bob is your best mate this Christmas
As Christmas celebrations begin Territorians are reminded to plan ahead and organise a Sober Bob if they are planning on drinking.
Sober Bob is someone who is willing to get you home safely. It could be a mate, a bus driver, a taxi driver, your mum, brother, girlfriend, or uncle.
Free Buses will also operate on New Year’s Eve from 7pm on 31 December 2017 to 7am 1 January 2018. Services will depart Darwin, Casuarina and Palmerston Interchanges, picking up and dropping off at all bus stops along the route.
A blood alcohol reading of 0.05 doubles your risk of being involved in a crash.
Drink driving is a major issue, with nearly half of Territory road fatalities related to alcohol and around 20% of serious injuries.
On average 48 people die and 540 people are seriously injured on our roads each year. Every crash on our roads has devastating impacts on Territory families and communities.
Deciding on your Sober Bob for the night out might be the best decision you ever make.
