Check the road before you go

Published

Don’t get caught out on Territory roads this wet season. It’s that time of the year when the rain has set in and our road conditions are imminently changing.

We’ve all been there, when you’ve planned your camping trip to a tee, you’ve hit the road with your methodically crafted road trip playlist blaring, and before you know it you’ve come face to face with a flooded crossing.

Cue the change of plans…

Do you chance it and see if you’ve got the skills and the vehicle to cross? Or do you decide there is too much of a risk and plan an alternative route or location?

The nerves and frustration tend to kick in right about now, and all you want to do is get to your destination to kick back, relax and maybe even cast a line. But you’ve been caught out.

If you checked Road Report NT before leaving, you might have been able to avoid this debacle.

Road Report NT

The service provides up to date information on road conditions in the Territory including flooding, impassable roads, road closures, vehicle type requirements and weight restrictions.

Road Report NT allows you to Check. Plan. Go. before hitting the road to reduce your chance of coming across any unplanned hurdles. But remember, road conditions can change rapidly and Road Report NT is updated when the information becomes available, so you should always plan for the unexpected.

Keep updated by going to the Road Report NT website or follow the Facebook page. You can also download the mobile app from:
