Specifications for environmental management

This environmental management specification covers the requirements for the environmental management of projects, including general environmental controls, environmental management plans and sub-plans, heritage and cultural approvals, materials extraction approvals as well as site specific requirements such as soil erosion and weed management.

The documents are made available as a service to the community subject to agreement with the disclaimer.

Each master specification contains an overview of updates (commentary) section which gives the latest update information and general information on the production of project specifications.

Standard specifications and supplementary documents

A Contractors Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) is generally a requirement for all department projects and the word template (for tenderers and contractors as support documentation) is available within the supplementary documents.

Environmental management assistance

Environmental services team can provide project managers and contractors with advice, support on the requirements, review and implementation for a CEMP which is:

  • value for money
  • project specific and site relevant
  • ensures contractors aware of their environmental responsibilities
  • ensures measures are in place for contractors to manage the environmental components of their projects effectively
  • procedures are in place to ensure the contractor is able to handle any environmental issues or emergencies that may arise.
