The Northern Territory Government aims to limit inconvenience to road users by planning early and identifying alternative routes to help minimise public impact. Safe and consistent traffic management is also a priority, as is proactive and up-to-date communication. As construction progresses, information will be provided to residents, businesses and commuters via newspaper advertisements, letters to residents in affected areas, variable message boards and social media.

Project Details

Palmerston is one of Australia's fastest growing cities and the road network needs to keep pace with its rapid development.

The Northern Territory Government is undertaking a comprehensive series of improvements to provide for a safe traffic environment and allow for greater movement of vehicles in the area and for the future development of the city.

The roadworks will impact normal traffic flows around, into and out of Palmerston over the coming months.

To minimise inconvenience, specific information will continue to be provided in advance of works.

The delivery of this comprehensive roadwork program represents a $57 million investment in Palmerston's future by providing easier in and out bound access to vehicles and safe road user options.
