Anula Primary School - Kiss and Go carpark upgrade
These works will upgrade and extend the current parking capacity, whilst facilitating a safe pick up/drop off point for children. There will be more capacity in the carpark for parents who want to walk their children into school.
The flow of traffic on Yanyula Drive will improve as parents will no longer have to stop on the sweeping bend to drop off/pick up children. The safety of children will be greatly enhanced by allowing a more seamless ‘Kiss and Go’ facility and keeping children away from a main road.
The planned works are:
- Upgrading ‘Kiss and Go’ facilities at Anula Primary School
- Widening entry into the drop off/pick up facility
- New connecting walkways
- Upgrading designated staff parking facilities – freeing up the car spaces for parents
- New pavements, kerbs and installing disability parking.
Access to all residential properties and businesses will not be affected as the works are confined to the existing car parking site.
To minimise noise and disruption to residents, works will take place from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am to 3:00pm Saturday. During school drop off and pick up times (before 9:00am and between 2:00 – 3:30pm) there will be no heavy vehicle access to the site to ensure the safety of students.
The project is taking place on the current car parking site and will encompass a secondary car park upgrade to the small carpark closest to Wandie Crescent. There is also a vegetation removal project – a large boab tree is located on the site where the small staff car park will be developed. We are working with the school to have that re-situated.
